I also felt everything between Red and Nicole happened way too quickly. Their relationship went from attraction to something supposedly much deeper before I really had a chance to understand either character or believe in the connection between them. I would have liked more character development and more time spent building their relationship.
There were definitely some steamy moments, but unfortunately they weren't enough to make up for my dislike of Red or how rushed the story felt.
I know this series has plenty of fans, but this first book didn't work for me. I'm not sure Red is a character I want to spend much more time with!
